OUR PROCEDURE:

Finding the right artist for your portrait

One of the main advantages of this web site is that you are able to view samples of most artists' work at your convenience. There are no time constraints, and you can revisit as often as you like.
Bear in mind that no two portraitists work in the same way. There is no standard procedure to follow.
If you particularly like the work of an artist, feel free to contact us for any question you might have.

Studio-visit

Whether you intend to commission a portrait for yourself, a member of your family, or on behalf of an organization, talking with the artist, and maybe arranging to see some of his or her work first hand, will help you make your final decision. Therefore we will accompany you at a visit to the studio of the artist(s) of your choice. At this occasion you can get acquainted with the artist, see her/his art works, and discuss you ideas and wishes.
When it has become clear what kind of portrait you expect, the artist will decide on what the price will be and make an estimate on how much time is needed for the execution.

Payment

You will receive an agreement. After the agreement has been signed, all financial matters are handled by the bureau.
A deposit of 25% of the full price has to be paid in advance. In case the client is not satisfied with the finished portrait, this deposit is used for the artist's materials and costs of the agency.
Only after the total price has been received, the artwork can be collected/delivered.

Certificate

The execution of a portrait is a complicated matter and will take some time. An unforeseen setback during the process can delay the moment of completion. If the artwork is meant as a gift for a special occasion that takes place at short notice, it is often not possible to deliver a finished portrait without giving in on the quality of the artwork. In these cases, to avoid putting our artists under too much strain and to provide you with the second best solution, we can offer you a personal Gift Certificate. Framing

Finding a frame that goes well with the painting can be a difficult task. If you feel insecure you can ask for our assistance in selecting a suitable frame at Krützmann Frame makers, Amsterdam.
